Trust
Trust isn't easy nor should it be easy. Can we trust a perfect stranger that becomes a community member? Using AI driven by community can help to bring that, and this will be discussed in more detail on another day.
Open Source
What is developed should be available to all who wish to try and replicate, or even build on this concept. With the MIT license, work can be shared through a commonly available tracking system. Care must be taken to avoid copyright infringement. Source can be developed with libraries and available machine learning tools. Additionally, components should be added to assist in the enforcement of a system of trust. Repository location and design files will be made available after the prototyping phase.
Commonly available tools and components
JavaScript and NodeJS for example are commonly available tools and components. Community development environments allow for authoring and building code compatible with many platforms. Web based compatibility target is also a good start. Finally the use of APIs make a wealth of services that make this total project a feasible endeavor.
Cloud services where applicable
A community needs a place to land. Unless this community is in the same physical location, a place that defines the community online presence is necessary. This is exists as a system of storage and compute devices at large centers dedicated to providing the latest and greatest hardware. It also reduces the high costs of bringing large complex devices into community homes. The high costs represent a risk in gaining ownership, providing maintenance, and a need for extraordinarily high data bandwidth in the home.
IoT type low cost devices in the household
The big data and big compute devices are made available through cloud services, and what remains are the AI endpoints that exist in the household. The intention is for a good AI experience within the home. It should enhance quality of life and not be intrusive to daily activities. Indeed, these AI endpoints should accelerate the work required and reduce the time it takes to carry out the mundane tasks of daily life in the home.
